Full Moon in Taurus/Partial Lunar Eclipse - November 19, 2021

On Friday, November 19, 2021, (12:58 AM PST and 3:58 AM EST) the Moon glows in the aesthetically pleasing, secure, and peaceful sign of Taurus. The Moon is in its full expression thanks to the Sun in Scorpio, the sign that thrives off intensity, lives in the depths, and is wired to penetrate to the core of all things. Taurus will ask you to slow down, to take your time, enjoy the moment, be still, and embrace the silence. While Scorpio will pull you deep into the moment so you know the truth about what is really happening. It’s certainly possible that this tension is highlighting some of the more practical issues in your life that are connected to your security and the things you most value. Since we’re also dealing with Scorpio territory be aware of how control, fear, and power creep in to the mix.

So what does this mean for this Full Moon?

This Full Moon is also a partial lunar eclipse. It is visible from North and South America, and most of Asia. The penumbral phase will be visible from parts of Europe and Africa. Keep in mind that eclipses always happen in pairs and on December 4th we’ll have a total solar eclipse that will be visible over Antarctica.

From a psychological perspective, eclipses are unique. They stir up the intensity and they amplify whatever needs that extra touch. They tend to create accelerated changes, growth, and push things into motion at a much quicker rate. You may even experience significant breakthroughs, resolutions, or even a crisis point that helps you move past a block.

This eclipse is coinciding with the Taurus Full Moon, so turn your focus toward what you truly value. Take a moment and ask yourself: What DO I value? What is truly worth my time, money, and energy? Have I valued things that aren’t worth much to my soul? What am I devaluing that is worthy of more? Who do I need to value more? What or who have I been taking for granted?

Jupiter, the planet of faith, abundance, and expansion, is making a difficult aspect to this Full Moon. This could create more drama, but it could also represent an opportunity for you to take some risks. Pluto, the planet of transformation, is making a helpful alignment to this Full Moon. It will likely intensify the mood of your world, but it will also open the door for more insight, truth, and deep reflections.

Maybe you’ll return to therapy, or decide it’s time for a move? Maybe it’s time you quit your job, or applied for something new? Maybe you sign up for a new class or program, or maybe you go on a trip? Maybe it’s time for you to break up with your partner, or reconnect with an old friend?

The changes might feel heavy, but with the right perspective they can also feel incredibly liberating. Over these next two weeks before the solar eclipse on December 4th take note of what you need to let go of so that you can make space for the new vision that’s coming. This eclipse is the first of this series, so step back and let it show you a preview or at least paint a theme of what you’ll be working through these next two years.

While we all might find ourselves caught between instability and security, we will each experience this lunar energy differently depending on where Taurus is located in your chart or if you have a natal planet associated with it.
